Sakhi Welfare Foundation

Sakhi welfare society was establised by Dr Rakhi Anand Agarwal in 2019. Its a consolidated effort of the founder who has been working relentlessly for past 20 yrs in promoting gender equality and opposing female foeticide realised that if women are financially independent chances of their exploitation are less, hence Sakhi welfare society was born. Sakhi supports women to earn a livelihood by providing skills. Sakhi runs a free stitching school which was establised in 2016 even before the society was born till now it has trained more than 700 women free of cost . Many women who work regularly their hand made products are marketed by sakhi as well. In times of covid pandemic more than 50 thousand hand made masks were made by the girls on orders which not only earned a livelihood for them but raised awareness for hand made reusable masks , her efforts lead to the masks reaching the indian embassy in ireland where our skills were appreciated by hon his Excellency ambassador shri sandeep kumar ji on his face book page .sakhi welfare society went on to make the longest face mask and got their name added to the indian record book too during the year 2020 . She emerged as a true corona warrior by not only attending non stop to her patients but providing livelihood to women in these tough times , her visionary thought process connected these girls to national livelihood mission and now they shall get the orders for stiching from the government bodies . She has authored a book atam nirbhar nari sarv hitkari during the covid times which is about her views on being financially independent and different college courses available for young girls in india.she has featured in doordarshan uk mahila jagat and doordarshan lucknow in the program ek mulaqat for her exemplary work on women empowerment.she is also an actress by hobby if time allows .
